19/1/2023 Too much of a good thing
,It's a bumpy ride for everyone.
When things are going great and we're on top of the world, we should take a moment to appreciate that and do our best to keep it going for as long as we can. Because things can, and almost certainly will, change and can nose dive fast. I have been running almost daily, pain free and with a great deal of satisfaction for 14 years. Right now, I'm not feeling my physical best, plenty of aches and niggles. I plan my workouts, but often I can only manage to go through the motions. It's mostly out of habit and to keep my mental sanity, and running can feel like a grind at times. Even though there are some joyful sessions and the occasional spark of "greatness". On my run today, a thought occurred to me: one day, I may not be able to run. It's a sobering realisation that it is a possibility, and that changes everything. It makes every single run, even the grind, a part of the good times.
