"Luca was a guest speaker at our Customer Decisioning Team event where the focus for the event was personal resilience. He gave a compelling speech on his own journey of resilience when faced with adversity and provided the team with tips and ideas on how to turn bad situations into positive and successful ones. I can’t wait to find another opportunity to invite Luca back and hear more about his latest achievements, his mental preparation ahead of his record breaking attempts and to feel the buzz and excitement in the room as a result of his unbounded energy." - Alice Clayton - CBA
Let me take your staff on an exciting journey of running and opportunities.
What do Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Usain Bolt and my mum have in common?
They were GREAT in what they did and worked very hard for it.
Day in and day out, no days off.
With a resilience which comes from a clear mission in life.
Through the toughest of times, they didn't give up and in doing so they achieved something truly GREAT.
I believe in striving for GREAT. Not average. GREAT. In everything we do.
Not everyone is a Steve Jobs (or my mum)! Great means different things and it is measured in different ways by different people. In my view, it is the passion, mindset and effort we put into our actions which determines great.
And who am I to speak?
Someone like you, who is striving for GREAT and would like more greatness at work, in sport endeavours, in the community and family life. This desire has driven me since I joined the corporate world in my teens - yes teens!, and continues to drive me in my running challenges, charity work and family life.
I have no groundbreaking insights to share.
Instead, I would like to openly discuss and deconstruct some common basic principles I believe apply in running as they do in the workplace.
Imagine the kind of corporate, society and life we could create if we all felt compelled to strive for GREAT.

- Build a resilient and growing mindset: Drawing a parallel to my running challenges, the technique I use to reframe and dissect big challenges and tasks into small biteable sizes, is often transferrable to other aspect of work and life.
- Surround yourself by a great team: No running feat, fundraising challenge or any achievement is possible without a great team around. And a team share honesty, accountability and vulnerability.
- Find the way you can best give value: It is human nature to be the happiest when we give and when we are part of something bigger than ourselves. We are in a privileged position to do so, and I'd argue it is our responsibility to do our bit to be actively engaged with the many worthy causes which need our voice.
Imagine the kind of corporate, society and life we could create if we all felt compelled to strive for GREAT.

Luca has been an incredible source of inspiration to the workforce at AMP and continues to impact both AMP alongside many organisations through his personal adventures, Outrun Cancer events and key note speaking.Through creating his own charity Outrun Cancer and establishing a number of community based charity events focused around cancer prevention, Luca has played a key role in motivating people to come together across the business in the spirit of fitness, teamwork and supporting employees’ pursuit of a healthier and more active lifestyle.
This was evident again this year when 170 AMP employees across Parramatta and Circular Quay joined forces to run 13 team marathons and raise a total of $56,784! This year’s record turnout and fundraising captivated AMP into a carnival atmosphere of music, energy, team bonding and sea of green community support in the name of OUTRUN CANCER.
Over the four years that I have had the pleasure to work with Luca he has been instrumental in leading the way in engaging people to dream big, have a strong purpose, take some small steps to build momentum, work hard and move, touch and inspire an army around you to achieve your goal.
AMP has achieved incredible success and a strong reputation in the business sector as a company that values teamwork as well as health, fitness and sport and we have Luca to thank for the incredible contribution he has made in his education, speaking engagements, events and being an incredible example of what's possible with a resilient mindset to make a difference! - Jason Ibrahim - AMP

"Luca was the first speaker at our Inspiring People Sessions – Group Procurement CBA, aimed to encourage and cultivate “intra-preneurship” among employees, and what a great way to start! His presentation was very engaging and took us all through a journey where, at the end, everyone felt they could also achieve something meaningful in both personal and professional lives!”
“His energy and attitude towards challenges are contagious!”

"Recently in Sydney we held 21st Anniversary Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame (AMAHOF). I asked Luca Turrini to be one of our special guest, because I was inspired to meet a person who just keeps on giving. Even though Luca is not true martial artist, he connected with over 200 martial arts practitioners on a personal level. He took the time to prepare his speech and when he shared his own personal story, that lead him to becoming a world class athlete that ran to raise money for worthy causes, I knew that selecting Luca to be a speaker and presenter was one of my best decisions of the night. The next day we raised $480 and donated to Outrun Cancer as a way of saying thank you to Luca for accepting my invitation. - Master Paul Mitchell – AMAHOF Events Coordinator
