TRAINING PLANS
Every runner is unique ... and so are races.
Here you will find race specific training plans for events I know well. They have been designed considering the unique characteristics of the race such as distance, terrain, vertical gain and even weather conditions. Remove the guesswork so you can focus on your training and have your best race.
The plans are delivered via a fully featured training platform which gives you all the data you need, and allows you to upload the planned workouts to compatible GPS watches, to keep you honest!
For every plan, you can choose the level matching your current fitness level, the time you can commit to training and, ultimately, your running goal.
The cost structure is pretty simple too - one-off payment for the equivalent of one espresso ($4) a week!
One-on-one coaching options are also available.

Q. What level should I choose? Here is a table to help you workout what level would work best for you. If in doubt, why not pushing yourself? The comfort zone sucks!
(The table is based on training for a 100km race)

Q. What's in the training plans? The plans are specific to the race, distance, level and number of weeks you have chosen. In addition to the running workouts, it includes easy to follow strength and stability workouts and additional resources delivered via email and Final Surge.
Q. Are the training plan endorsed by the race organisers? Unless it is otherwise specified, there is no endorsement or affiliation with the races, brands and race organisers. These plans are offered by me as Athletic Australia accredited running coach (National Member ID 44540).

Noosa Ultra-Trail 50km - 80km - 100km
The Noosa Ultra-Trail® is Australia's latest trail running festival, held at the end of March in the beautiful hinterland of Noosa QLD, making it the perfect location to take a break and please the non-running partner/family.
I know this race and trails particularly well - they are my daily training grounds. I completed the 2022 inaugural event and I look forward to tackle the 100km again in 2023.
The course is very runnable and fast. It is ideal for those new to trail running and ultra distances and runners looking for a PB or racing hard and still be able to walk the next day.
The 100km presents a total of 2500m elevation, with 3 climbs and a 30km section in the first 60km of the race to pay particular attention to. The 80km/50 miler removes 750 meters of elevation from the 100km. The 50km is really fast, with only 900m elevation which is out of the way in the first half of the race.

Blackall 100
The Blackall 100 is becoming one of my favourite 100km courses in Australia. This race takes you across the Blackall Range on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, in the subtropical rainforest trails. I raced the 2021 and 2022 100km and covered the 50km course in training.
The course is runnable albeit tough in sections. The infamous "Buff", half way through the 100km, can be surprisingly hard if you fail to pace yourself in the early part of the race, or if you are unprepared for the relentless climb frequently done in the hottest part of the day.
The 3200m total elevation is not massive but requires strong quads to finish strong.

Runaway Noosa Marathon
Noosa Heads may well be one of the top tourist destinations to host a marathon! The 4 lap flat and fast course offers a great opportunity to chase a marathon PB. Personally, I like the lap format as it offers additional visual points of reference to break down the race in bit-size pieces and remain "on-pace" throughout the race. 21km, 10km and 5km distances also available, with the 5km start time late enough to be potentially used as a cool-down!
