Tewantin Runners Launch

Picture
This morning marked the first official training session of the Tewantin Runners running group!
We kicked things off with a short, sweaty run followed by 15 minutes of strength and stability exercises.

I've been missing the opportunity to train regularly with others in a structured and organized setting, or even during impromptu sessions.

For me, the deepest friendships I've built over the last 15 years have all come through running.
There's something about this common interest that opens up the opportunity for conversations, both small and deep, which are much easier to tackle on a run.

Running with a group makes it more enjoyable and motivating. It helps me push through the physical and mental discomfort of tougher sessions and experiment with new workouts, routes, and approaches to training I wouldn't often dare to attack on my own, which keeps running interesting and challenging.
On easier sessions, the camaraderie, shared smiles, stories, and life moments make the day brighter.

Behind all of this I found there is great respect and partnership with each other, and often a great camaraderie when there is competition among the runners.
We share tips on everything from nutrition to injury prevention and from the most performing color of shoes to the best excuse to use to justify yet another race entry!
Ultimately, the weight of a failure and the elation of a triumph is shared with the group.

I'm really excited to embark on this new journey and take the first step to bring people together to develop friendships that could last for the next 15 years!

I will be sharing here a bit of my journey and it's not all about running!
My journey is about following passions, changing paths and a belief that there is a great potential out there and within me to explore.
