7/9/2023 Jump start the day
I've been busy lately, both personally and professionally.
Yesterday, I took a long day trip to Sydney, leaving home at 5am and returning at 11pm. I spent 8 hours sitting on the plane and in the car, and I slept poorly. This morning, I woke up feeling foggy and sluggish, with dark circles under my eyes. A part of me was tempted to stay in bed, but I now know better. I forced myself to get up, get the kids ready for their day and go for a recovery run to school with Lorenzo, followed by an ice bath. Of course, I now feel much better. My brain is clear and my energy levels are rising. The path of least resistance would have been to stay in bed, but I believe that's not really resting or recovering. It's just procrastinating.
