As someone who doesn't ride mountain bikes, I'm puzzled by the popularity of electric mountain bikes among young people. Isn't the whole point of climbing up the mountain to sweat it out so you can enjoy the downhill section after? It's like driving up a hill just to just run the down hill. While it can be fun, I find it hard to justify buying a car for it. Because these e-bikes are certainly as expensive/.
I'm not trying to be a purist here. The one time I rode up the mountain bike trail course, I thought I was going to pass out. I accepted that was the price of sweating it out on the climb to enjoy the thrill of the downhill ride.
